IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT THE EASIEST WAY TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER IS TO SHAKE A BABY!

Some progress has been made in recent years regarding being able to identify and successfully prosecute the perpetrator. For example, we now know that a child who is shaken hard enough to cause severe brain damage or death will become symptomatic immediately, thus helping us to narrow down the field of suspects by determining who was caring for the child when the first symptoms were noticed. Even those children not as severely injured should display some notable change in behavior very soon after the incident.
